Standard & Wide Boot Size Guide

Tip: If you're between sizes, size up for comfort. Leather naturally stretches and molds to your foot after a few wears. Wide boots are approximately 0.2 inches wider than standard.

Here’s how to measure your feet at home before choosing your Leather & Lei boots.

Step 1: Gather What You’ll Need

• A sheet of paper larger than your foot
• A pen or pencil
• A ruler or tape measure
• A flat, hard surface (like the floor)

Step 2: Measure Your Foot Length

1. Place the paper flat on the floor against a wall.
2. Stand on the paper with your heel lightly touching the wall.
3. Make sure your weight is evenly distributed.
4. Trace around the outline of your foot or simply mark the tip of your longest toe.
5. Measure the distance from the heel to the longest toe mark — that’s your foot length.

Tip: Measure both feet — one foot is often slightly larger. Use the longer measurement.

Step 3: Measure Your Foot Width

1. Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your foot (across the ball of your foot).
2. Note the measurement in inches.

Step 4: Use the Chart to Find Your Size

Match your foot length and width to the closest size on our chart.

Here’s how to know your Leather & Lei boots fit exactly as they should.

1. The Heel

• When your boots are brand new, you should feel a slight slip in the heel (about ¼ inch).
• As you wear them, the leather will soften and mold to your foot, and that slip will naturally disappear.
  • A little heel lift at first means a perfect fit later.

2. The Instep

• The instep (top of your foot) should feel snug but not tight.
• You shouldn’t feel pressure or pinching — just a gentle hug across the top of your foot.
  • Think: secure, not squeezed.

3. The Toes

• Your toes should have a little wiggle room — they shouldn’t press against the end of the boot.
• When standing, you should be able to move your toes comfortably without feeling cramped.
  • If your toes touch the front, try a half size up.

4. The Width

• If the sides of your feet feel squeezed or your pinky toe rubs, you may need a wide width.
• Our wide boots are about 0.2 inches wider than standard, designed for comfort and shape without losing structure.
  • Your foot should feel supported, not restricted.

5. The Shaft & Calf

• The boot shaft should gently hug your leg — not too tight, but not loose enough to slide down.
• If you plan to wear thicker socks or jeans tucked in, make sure you have a little extra space.
  • A comfortable fit around the calf means an easy pull-on every time.
